How to ring up a basket

1. Weigh the whole basket on the scales.
2. Read the weight in grams (e.g. 730 g).
3. Add this item to the sale and set the quantity to that number (730).
4. The till works out the total automatically — 730 × £0.02 = £14.60.

Why per gram? Shopify POS only accepts whole-number quantities, so it cannot ring up “0.73 kg”. Pricing per gram means the quantity you type is the number on the scale — no mental arithmetic, and no rounding.

Handy check: quantity sold on any report = total grams sold. Divide by 1,000 for kilos moved.

Anything individually ticketed is a separate product and is not sold by weight.
